What will you receive from us? The essence: Two natives of Bogotá-Colombia, who learned Latin dance as part of his cultural heritage. The training: Oswaldo has studied theater, puppetry, dance and voice at the National University (1989 - 1994) and National School of Dramatic Arts in Colombia (1996 - 1998). In 1998 he came to this country to study artistic skills at the Puppet Arts program at Uconn. In order to update his dance skills he took an intensive Salsa dance training at the East Hartford Cultural Center: "Circle of Life", Ballroom/Swing at Maria's dance studio in Canterbury and Stardust weekends in New York State. He won first places in two "Salsa" rhythm tournaments (2006 - 2007) in Hartford. Aida
has been a dance choreographer at Saint Theresa of Jesus elementary school (2007 - 2009) in Bogota, Colombia.
The experience: This is Oswaldo's thirteenth year teaching Latin dance for all ages in several dance studios, colleges, public schools and community centers throughout Connecticut, such as Arts in Motion in Willimantic, Maria's dance studio in Canterbury, Manchester Community College, Eastern Connecticut State University, Uconn, Mansfield Community Center, among others.
His passion for art and movement led him to create Grasshopper Arts. Currently he is the director of this company which conducts performances and workshops in area schools, universities and art centers.
I will look forward to working with you!
